1、Smart Manhole Monitoring System Product Application:
Smart Manhole Cover Monitor utilizes 4G wireless communication technology to monitor the status of manhole covers, enabling centralized management and real-time monitoring of basic information, facility conditions, and issues such as flooding or submersion.As a vital component of urban infrastructure, manhole covers are ubiquitous across city streets and alleys, playing a pivotal role in the development of modern smart cities. Damaged or stolen manhole covers that are not promptly addressed can easily create significant safety hazards, endangering public safety and property.
The Smart Manhole Monitoring System is installed on the underside of the manhole cover; its standout advantage lies in the ability to use IoT technology to obtain real-time status updates for all covers and facilitate rapid, effective management.
Communication Method: 4G wireless network signal.
Note: Only the standard configuration—monitoring tilt angle, water immersion status, remaining battery level, and signal strength—complies with explosion-proof certification; models with additional sensors do not meet explosion-proof certification requirements.
2、Smart Manhole Monitoring System Power Supply:
By default, the device is powered by a built-in high-capacity lithium battery with an upload frequency of once every 6 hours, allowing for a continuous standby time of over 5 years (based on default monitoring of tilt, water immersion, and float switch status, with no alarms triggered).
Modifying settings such as the "normal upload interval," "threshold-exceeded upload interval," or "update interval," or experiencing network connection issues due to signal conditions, will increase power consumption and reduce the device's battery life.
3、Smart Manhole Monitoring System Key Features
Ingress Protection: IP68
Operating Environment: -40°C to +70°C; 0% RH to 95% RH (non-condensing)
Positioning: Supports tag-based positioning; uploads latitude/longitude tag data to display the device's installation location on the platform.
Configuration: Supports contactless Bluetooth configuration; dedicated configuration tools provided.
Data Allowance: Includes a one-time 3-year data allowance; data service can be renewed.
4、Smart Manhole Monitoring System Data Upload Frequency:
Normal Data Upload Frequency:
Default is once every 6 hours (in the absence of tilt, water immersion, or float switch alarms); configurable between 5 and 1,440 minutes. The terminal immediately transmits a message to the platform when an alarm occurs.
Alarm Data Upload Frequency:
Default is once every 2 minutes (triggered by tilt, water immersion, or float switch alarms); configurable between 5 and 1,440 minutes. The terminal immediately transmits a message to the platform when the alarm condition clears.
Note: If the device is installed or stored upside down (with the water immersion terminal facing upwards for an extended period), it will frequently trigger tilt alarms. To prevent battery depletion, the device will automatically enter standby mode and stop uploading data after 12 hours in this state.
5、Smart Manhole Monitoring System Measurement Parameters:
Smart Manhole Monitoring System comes standard with data monitoring for "tilt angle, water immersion status, remaining battery level, and signal strength." Additionally, based on project requirements, it supports the expansion of real-time online monitoring to include data such as "float switch warning status, manhole water level (air gap/distance to surface), actual manhole water level, and light intensity."
Tilt Angle:
Measurement axis: Z-axis;
Measurement range: 0–90°;
Resolution: 0.1°;
Alarm threshold: Default 30° (configurable range: 0–90°);
Significance: Detects whether the manhole cover has tipped over or capsized.
Measurement method: Utilizes an integrated high-performance accelerometer; calculates the real-time tilt angle of the object by analyzing the proportional components of gravitational acceleration in different directions.
Water Immersion Status:
Significance: Triggers an alarm when accumulated water in the manhole reaches an overflow state;
Measurement method: Uses the electrode method; detects the conduction state of electrodes based on water conductivity to accurately determine whether water immersion has occurred.
Float Status:
Cable length: 2m (default); extendable;
Significance: Triggers an alarm when the water level rises to a specific distance from the manhole opening, providing a warning based on the air gap (distance to water surface).
Measurement method: Uses a float-type level switch that floats on the liquid surface and moves vertically with the water level; as the level rises, a counterweight causes the float to rotate, triggering the alarm sensor and outputting a warning signal.
Manhole Water Level:
Measurement range: 2m (submersible level sensor comes with a standard 2m probe cable; extendable based on actual conditions);
Resolution: 0.1cm;
Typical accuracy: ±3% FS;
Measurement method: Supports two measurement methods—transit-time (ultrasonic) or submersible level sensor—to measure "air gap" and "actual liquid level" data; select one of the two methods. Light Intensity:
Measurement range: 0–200,000 Lux;
Typical accuracy: ±7% (at 25°C);
Measurement purpose: Detects light levels inside the manhole via a light sensor to determine if the manhole cover is damaged or overturned.
Measurement method: Uses a high-precision photosensitive element to accurately measure light intensity;
